Tax cuts and changes to tax bands are among the main priorities identified by people taking part in a Clare FM survey ahead of tomorrow’s Budget.
The survey suggests the biggest concerns are around tax, household energy costs and the wider cost of living.
A Clare FM survey, with 200 people taking part, shows more than a quarter of respondents, 28.5 per cent, would like to see changes to taxation.
That was followed by help with energy and heating bills, with 22 per cent of people identifying that as a priority.
The cost of running a car or other vehicle also featured strongly, with 11 per cent calling for help with fuel costs.
Almost one in ten, or 9 per cent, said they would like to see pensions increased, while 9.5 per cent selected other measures.
Those additional responses included calls for greater fairness around inheritance tax, higher disability payments, and investment to prepare for an ageing population.
Housing also features in the responses, with 6.5 per cent saying they want more help for people trying to buy a home, while the same percentage called for increased funding for health services.
A further 5 per cent want more government spending on infrastructure.
2 per cent said they would like more help with rent, while support for childcare was the least selected option, at 0.5 per cent.
