Tanaiste Accepts Changes May Be Needed To House Call COVID-19 Vaccinations

The Tanaiste has conceded that an alternative system will have to be considered for administering COVID-19 vaccinations to people who are housebound.

This week, Clare FM highlighted the cases of 99-year-old Joe Kennealy from Kilshanny and 100-year-old Margaret Morgan from Kilmurry McMahon who are both among the estimated 1,000 housebound people who are still waiting for their vaccines.

They also don’t even have a date for when the jabs will be administered, as part of the rollout by the National Ambulance Service.

The issues has been raised within Fine Gael by Deputy Joe Carey and Senator Martin Conway and their party leader Leo Varadkar admits it’s an issue that needs to be addressed.
