Swimming Restrictions Lifted At Five Clare Beaches

Swimming restrictions have been lifted at five Clare beaches.

Restrictions were put in place at Lahinch, Spanish Point, White Strand – Miltown Malbay, Kilkee and the front beach – Quilty last week, after heavy rain led to elevated levels of bacteria in the water.

Clare County Council says those restrictions have now been lifted following an analysis carried out over the weekend and on the advice of the HSE.

The local authority will continue to monitor water quality at beach locations in the county but is advising that the safest place to swim is at lifeguarded locations.
