The public are being warned of visiting restrictions at the region's main hospital due to a suspected outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.
The restrictions affect Unit 5B at University Hospital Limerick and means no visitors will be allowed there for the next 24 hours.
In a statement to Clare FM, the hospital say all infection control procedures will be put in place to manage the outbreak and are apologising to patients and the public for the inconvenience these measure may cause.
The restrictions will be reviewed tomorrow at which time a decision on whether they need to be extended will be made.
