A low level status yellow high temperature warning has been issued for Clare.
Met Éireann is forecasting daytime temperatures in excess of 27 degrees and night time temperatures of 15 degrees.
Potential impacts include uncomfortable sleeping conditions, heat stress, water safety issued due to increased use of lakes or beaches, while forest fires are also a possibility.
The alert comes into effect tomorrow afternoon at 1pm and remains in effect until 7 o’clock on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, the ESB is reminding people of the dangers of and potentially serious consequences of swimming at it’s Arndnacrusha reservoir, as the heatwave takes hold.
The ESB is urging people to take note of safety warnings which are visible on signs posted around the South East Clare reservoir.
The utility says the area is unsafe for swimming due to deep, fast-flowing waters, fluctuating water levels, and uneven terrain, which present significant hazards to the public.
Manager of Hydro Operations, Henry Bouchier is encouraging people to choose safer swimming locations such as swimming pools or one of Clare’s twelve beaches and waterways with designated lifeguards.
