A North Clare doctor has been named Clare Person of the Year, recognising his outstanding contribution to medicine, public service and mental-health care.
Spanish Point native Dr John Hillery is the recipient of the 2026 award, with the Clare Association Dublin also honouring Tony Griffin and young hurling star Mark Sheedy.
Two special posthumous Clare Legacy Awards will remember Joe Vaughan and Dermot Hayes for their remarkable contributions to their communities.
The 45th Clare Association Awards Dinner takes place on Saturday, October 17th, at The Reine, formerly The Inn at Dromoland.
