The number of pedestrians who have been killed on the country’s roads this week has risen to three, following the death of a man in Co. Kildare last night.
The man in his 30s was killed when he was struck by a car at Baybush in Straffan shortly before 10pm.

In all, six people have died in road accidents over the past five days.
It comes amid reports this morning that the number of Garda members of the Traffic Corps is to be reduced next year.
The Road Safety Authority has warned against the move, with chairman Gay Byrne saying any cut to the Traffic Corps will put lives at risk.
