Significant Drop In Trolley Numbers At UHL

There’s been a significant drop in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest INMO figures show 15 patients were left waiting on trolleys in the Emergency Department at University Hospital Limerick this morning.

It’s 6 more than the next busiest hospital, on a day when 47 patients have been waiting to be admitted to hospitals across the country.

Yesterday, trolley numbers at UHL soared to 42, prompting calls from the INMO for a national investigation into the causes of the high levels of overcrowding witnessed at Dooradoyle in recent days.
