There’s been a significant drop in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital ahead of the weekend.

The latest INMO figures show there were 62 patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 31 of those in the Emergency Department.

That represents a drop of three dozen on Monday’s figure.

The Dooradoyle facility remains the busiest in the country, however, with the overall figure more than double the next busiest facility; University Hospital Galway.
