The Transport Minister says cutting Shannon Airport’s ties with the DAA will only make sense if the government can ensure it will be left on a sound financial footing.
Speaking for the first time since publishing the Booz Report into the future of the Mid West facility, Leo Varadkar pledged to act on its findings in the coming months.

If Minister Varadkar presses ahead with the " local concession model" it would see Clare’s International Airport run by local authorities in Clare and Limerick, along with Shannon Development and other local business interests.
There are concerns this could leave it financially unstable but the Minister insists this won’t be allowed to happen.
