The CEO of Shannon Group says she believes a full recovery for the aviation sector and Shannon Airport is still ‘some way off’ despite the lifting of pandemic restrictions.

The Group has released its 2021 Annual Report, which shows post tax profits of more than 25 million euro, as well as Shannon passenger numbers increasing by 8 percent on 2020 levels.

Overall turnover jumped by 18 percent to more than 40 million euro, while earnings before interest and taxes came to €8.6 million, compared to €1.2 million in 2020.

Speaking with Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville, Shannon Group CEO Mary Considine says a number of issues, including fuel prices, may impact on numbers again this winter.
