A Shannon-based doctor has described the decision by the Health Minister to include the NAGP in GP contract talks as a positive step towards overhauling the health system.

The move has been described as significant, after Leo Varadkar excluded the organisation from talks during his term of office, chosing only to negotiate with members of the Irish Medical Organisation.
Minister Simon Harris has said that delivering a new GP contract is essential and that he NAGP should be a part of that process.
Vice-President of the NAGP, Dr Yvonne Williams has been telling me that it will be a slow process but one that she hopes will yield positive results.
