Shannon Councillor Says Purchase Of Oakwood Arms Is Huge Relief To Workers

A Shannon Councillor says the purchase of the Oakwood Arms hotel in the town will come as a huge relief to workers. 

The hotel, which went into receivership late last year, has been taken over by Cratloe businessman Colm O'Brien. 

The business has continued to operate as normal since Stephen Tenant of Grant Thornton was appointed receiver in December. 

Sinn Fein's Mike McKee has been telling me he hopes Mr. O'Brien's purchase will provide certainty for the 50 people employed there.
