A Clare businesswoman who’s been appointed to a prestigious role in an international organisation is hopeful of expanding economic and cultural links to this county.
Shannon Chamber CEO Helen Downes has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Canada Ireland Foundation.

The culture and heritage group has been going since 1997 and strives to deepen connections with the two nations, with the opening of a new arts venue ‘The Corleck ‘ in Toronto next year to mark a significant milestone.
She says there’s huge opportunities to be gained from the role.
