Shannon Businesses will address this afternoon’s meeting of Clare County Council in a bid to lower commercial rates.

Ahead of the council’s budget talks, traders in Shannon are hoping for financial relief measures in the form of a reduction in water and commercial rates to keep local businesses afloat and to encourage new retail units in the town.
Their public briefing takes place at 3pm in Shannon Airport, and Skycourt Shopping Centre Manager Pat Kelly says local businesses need to change the situation whereby Shannon is the fifth most expensive town in Ireland for rates.
