Shannon boosted with return of transatlantic service

Passenger numbers through Shannon Airport are set to be boosted by an extra 30 thousand next year with the return of another transatlantic service to the region.

US Airways is restoring its daily service from the Mid West to Philadelphia after a four year absence.

The new flights on the  176 seater Boeing 757 aircraft will operate from May 22nd to September 3rd and will avail of Shannon’s US Preclearance facility, thus ensuring speedy access or passengers on arrival stateside.

It comes just weeks after United Airlines announced a new Chicage Shannon service for 2013, while charter company Wings Abroad is increasing its flights to Bodrum in Turkey.
