Teachers representatives are disputing the government’s claims that 106 new national schools will be built over the next five years.
Under the 1.5 billion euro programme announced by the Education Minister – a total of 219 projects will go to construction between now and 2016.

The plan includes seven primary and post primary schools in Clare including Ennis National School, , Knockaneen , Shannon Comprehensive, Saint Anne’s Community College in Killaloe and Tulla Secondary School.
However the INTO claim the programme is confusing and while its good news for some schools, others will remain in a dilapadated state for many years to come.
