A Clare government Senator says it's vital businesses are given a rates reprieve following the abolition of Town Councils.

80 municipal authorities will be closed down after next month's local elections, including those in Ennis, Shannon, Kilrush and Kilkee.
The move is one of a range of local government reforms, which Environment Minister Phil Hogan says will save the taxpayer over €420 million.
Ennistymon Fine Geal Senator Martin Conway says it's vital these savings are passed onto businesses.
