A new initiative has been established to honour one of Clare’s bright lights taken too soon.
The Sean Shannon Music Foundation has been set up to honour the legacy of Ennis native and piano prodigy Sean Shannon who sadly passed away in August 2023.

The foundation’s aim is to nurture young musical talent through making music education and performance opportunities more accessible.
Composer and trumpeter Aoife O’Donovan, who was a close friend of Sean, says it’s the perfect way to remember his music as well as his outlook.
