President Michael D Higgins will be among the mourners at the funeral of Seamus Heaney today.

The Nobel Prize winning poet will be laid to rest in his native Bellaghy in County Derry this evening.
He died on Friday aged 74 – and books of condolence will remain open in Dublin, Belfast and Derry today. Seamus Heaney is survived by his wife Marie and his three children.
