The Clare Branch of the Samaritans is holding another information evening tonight, looking for potential new volunteers.
In the first three months of this year the local branch of the Samaritans responded to around 6,500 contacts, phone calls, emails or visits to the branch on the Kilrush Road.
Last year there were just over 28,000 contacts.
