Sale Of Vacant Clare Garda Stations Put On Hold To Potentially House Refugees

The sale of vacant garda stations in County Clare has been paused to see if they could be used to house Ukrainian refugees.

Vacant Garda stations at Lahinch , Broadford and Doonbeg had been due to go under the hammer.

A list provided by the Office of Public Works revealed auctions listing a total of 13 vacant stations have been delayed in locations such as Clare, Kerry, Cork, and Donegal

 

More than 40 thousand Ukrainians have arrived in Ireland since Russia began its invasion in February.

The State’s capacity for refugees was reached last week, with new arrivals having to stay in the old terminal building at Dublin Airport.
