The Clare Area President of Saint Vincent de Paul is urging those struggling not to shy away from calling them, despite a record number of calls in recent months.
Nationally, the charity received 50,000 calls for help in the two month run up to Christmas from people in a variety of circumstances.

Over the past five years, demand on their service has increased by more than 11% as families struggle to pay for the cost of household fuel, food, bills and rent.
