The public is being advised not to swim at a West Clare beach.
On the advice of the HSE, Clare County Council has issued an Advisory Notice urging people not to swim at Kilkee Beach until further notice.

The restriction has been put in place following the detection of elevated levels of bacteria in routine bathing water samples which it’s believed is the result of run-off after heavy rainfall
In accordance with An Taisce’s Blue Flag programme, the beach’s Blue Flag will be removed until the issue is rectified.
