Clare County Council has been accused of failing to act in the common good after refusing permission for a wind turbine in the West of the county.
Slievenalicka Locally Owned Turbine Ltd had proposed to build a single turbine of up to 150m in height across the townlands of Tooreen, Slievenalicka and Drumbaun near Miltown Malbay.

In its refusal the local authority cited concerns for the visual amenity of the area and local wildlife.
Ennis Green Party Representative Bridget Ginnity believes these reasons do not hold water.
