Transport Infrastructure Ireland, formerly the NRA, is holding the event at the Inn at Dromoland from 4:00 until 8:00.
The state body is seeking the public's views and comments on the site selection phase of the project.
Supermacs founder Pat McDonagh has lodged an application to build a service station at Junction 12 of the motorway, on the outskirts of Ennis, while Applegreen had also lodged an application for a similar development at Junction 11, but An Bord Pleanala says this has since been withdrawn.
