Public Meeting For Disability Rights To Be Held In Clare Today

People living with disabilities in Clare are being urged to attend a first of its kind public meeting today to have their voices heard.

Local activists have called the meeting to address a number of concerns, including the full ratification of the UN Convention for People with Disabilities, the car grant for disabled drivers and the level of social welfare they receive.

Clare’s Oireachtas members and county Councillors have been asked to come along to hear first-hand the issues facing disabled people in this county.

The meeting takes place in Cois na hAbhna on the Gort Road at 11 o’clock and rights activist Anne-Marie Flanagan wants a strong message to emerge.
