Clare County Council and Ennis 2040 DAC will host a number of public engagement meetings next week over the proposed redevelopment of the Abbey Street Car Park.
Under the Ennis 2040 Economic and Spatial Strategy, the designated activity company is planning to build over the car park with a mixed use development.
The proposed building will consist of a large retail space at ground and first floor levels together with office accommodation on the upper floors.
A raised river walkway is also proposed along the northern edge of the building to provide views of the River Fergus as well as space for recreation and leisure.
The consultation events will take place from 5pm until 7pm on Tuesday January 30th at the Temple Gate Hotel in Ennis, from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday the 31st at the Barefield Community Centre and from 7pm until 9pm on Thursday February 1st at Clarecastle National School.
Information boards will also be available in the foyer of Clare County Council from February 6th until February 10th.
The public will be able to submit online feedback on the plans via Clare County Council’s Have Your Say portal.
