Sisters Pamela and Denise Moore were found on the rocks at Whitestrand on Friday morning last following what Gardaí  believe to be a tragic accident.

Efforts to identify the middle aged sisters who died at Whitestrand took some time but Gardaí  in Ennistymon established they were originally from Birmingham, England, and had resided in Fermoy in County Cork for over 15 years.

Family friends there told Clare FM that Pamela and Denise recently moved to Waterford and had been regular visitors to the North Clare coast where they had hoped to buy a home and make a permanent move to the Miltown Malbay area.

The only living member of their immediate family – a sister in England – has since been traced and is now travelling to Ireland.

The remains of Pamela and Denise Moore will be removed from the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick later today for a private cremation service in Cork tomorrow.
