Principal Of Clare Irish College Describes Budget Allocation As “Fallacy”

The Principal of Clare’s only Irish College claims the level of funding allocated to the Irish language in the Budget is a fallacy.

An additional 2.5 million euro has been allocated for Gaeilge this year – which will go towards promoting the language.

While it brings the total funding €62.5m for language, the Gaeltacht and the islands, it has been criticised because it’s half of what was given to the Taoiseach’s Strategic Communications Unit.
