Post Masters Say they Can’t Cope with Cuts

Post Masters say they will be forced to shut their doors if they can't secure payment of social welfare through the network. 

A ballot will be held across the state in the coming weeks and if the action goes ahead it will see disruption to the service for the first time in the history of the state.

A new group has already begun discussions on the future of the network. 

However Elaine Hogan of Miltown Malbay Post Office says the majority of her and her colleague's income comes through Social Welfare payments and if planned changes go ahead she won't be able to afford to keep running.
