Positive Outlook Despite Growth in Live Register in North Clare

Business people in North Clare insist there's optimism in the air, despite growth in the local live register.

Dole queues in the area have increased by 20 per cent in the last two months with 243 people signing on at the Ennistymon welfare office in October and November.

The rise is being blamed on the end of the tourism season, and on the numbers of people who had previously been employed in construction.

However, in a special edition of Morning Focus live from Ennistymon this mroning, Jackie Crowe of Fitzpatrick’s Supervalu said they remain resilient.
