Pope Francis has approved two miracles attributed to the late pontiff – including the healing of a Costa Rican woman on the night of his
beatification in 2011.
Pope John the 23rd – who led the Catholic Church between 1958 and 1963 – will also be made a saint.
No dates have been set for their canonisation ceremonies – but the two Popes will become the 79th and 80th pontiffs to reach sainthood.
