A Clare woman who began to lose her sight eight years ago through a rare medical condition claims people with visual impairments are having near misses everyday due to driving ignorance.
It follows a new report from Vision Ireland, which found that 60% of respondents had been injured by a footpath obstacle.

The ‘Clear Our Paths Survey’ also showed the vast majority of people with visual impairments encounter hazards when walking in public spaces, such as wheelie bins, parked cars and notice boards.
Ennis resident Claire Cassidy says that poor driver behaviour is the most prevalent danger.
