A Clare Independent TD is branding a mooted ban on notices to quit private rental tenancies as a ‘time buying exercise’ by the Government.
Cabinet is expected to approve a moratorium on evictions for the winter months, after the three coalition party leaders met to thrash out details last night.
It will mean no new notices to quit can be issued until the end of March after legislation passes the Oireachtas.
