Ennis could be in line for a massive housing boost if two separate developments are given the green light.
Datcha Construction Limited is looking to build 74 homes on the southern side of the county town while Custy Construction Limited and John Talty Construction Limited have revealed their plans for a 55-unit development on the northside.
Datcha Construction Limited has applied for planning permission for a 74-unit residential development in Toberteascáin, Clonroad Beg, Ennis, consisting of 36 semi-detached houses, 23 terrace houses, 12 duplex units and three detached houses.
The project would also include car parking, vehicular and pedestrian access from the Toberteascáin road as well as pedestrian access into both the Abbey Ville estate and the Abbey Court estate to the south.
Clare County Council must reach a decision on the development by February 21st of next year, while submissions must be in by January 31st.
A separate planning application meanwhile has been submitted by Custy Construction Limited and John Talty Construction Limited for 55 dwelling houses in Ballymaley and Ballycorey.
The development is made up of 26 three-bed semi-detached two-storey houses, eight four-bed detached two-storey houses, eight four-bed semi-detached two-storey houses, eight three-bed detached bungalows, and five three-bed detached two-storey houses.
Included in the application are provisions for car parking, vehicular and pedestrian access comprising roads, footpaths, cyclepaths, public lighting and landscaping, and a bat house.
A decision on the development is due on February 22nd and submissions can be made up until February 1st.
