A new purpose built state of the art facility is tipped to significantly bolster security at Carrigaholt post office when it reopens in the coming weeks.
The amenity had been closed since January following a robbery of the premises, with a GoFundMe set up in the aftermath raising over €50,000 to help with reopening costs.

It’s been confirmed the post office will officially resume operations next month including additional services such as a grocery shop, with doors opening on May 18th.
Carrigaholt Post Office committee member, Luke Aston, says the quick turnaround to the reopening is a testament to the community’s spirit.
