Plans are afoot for a new homeless shelter in Ennis.
Clare County Council has confirmed to Councillor Clare Colleran-Molloy that it has identified a funding source for the former Grey Gables B&B on Station Road to be demolished and converted to an emergency accommodation facility for women and children.

The property was purchased in 2024 for €650,000 and subject to Government approval, its anticipated construction will commence next year with an estimated build time of 18 months.
