People of all ages who feel they’ve exhausted all options for support with ADHD are being encouraged to attend a monthly support group in Ennis.
October is ADHD Awareness Month, with this year’s themes focusing on empowerment and helping people better understand the condition.
ADHD awareness month aims to promote reliable information, reduce stigma and celebrate neurodiversity.
Throughout the month, ADHD Ireland will be hosting a range of webinars and conferences focused on education, acceptance, and self-understanding.
The charity also provides free advice and supports on their website for neurodivergent people.
Ennis-based trainer for the ADD Coach Academy, Maria McNamara, says early intervention in schools is essential to ensure children receive the support they need.
Chloe Whelan from Newmarket On Fergus has been documenting her experience with neurodiversity on social media.
She was diagnosed with ADHD last year, at the age of 28, after struggling in college when adequate support was not available to her.
Chloe says she hopes her Instagram page can help others feel less alone, while raising awareness of the differences in how ADHD can present in women and men.
