Kilmurry Ibrickane’s former Munster Club Player of the Year says the emergence of younger stars in 2026 is exciting for the club.
Sunday will see debut starting finals for a third of the Kilmurry team with the likes of Ajay Daly, Cathal Talty and Conor Burke set to feature on the showpiece day for the first time.
Darren Hickey has been an almost ever present feature of the Kilmurry defence over the last 18 years, including collecting the provincial player of the year in 2010.
He says the current crop coming through the club are setting new standards for everyone to reach as they prepare to face Eire Óg.
Meanwhile Eire Óg boss Shane Daniels is expecting another tough battle with Kilmurry in Sundays final
It is the third time this decade they will clash in the decider, with Eire Óg prevailing on both previous occasions.
Daniels says they know they will have to be ready for a massive test if they are to retain Jack Daly
