People in Clare are being advised to exercise caution on the 12 O’Clock Hills in the coming weeks as essential restoration works are taking place.
Coillte harvesting is to be carried out on the red, blue and purple hiking trails, to remove any overhanging trees caused by Storm Éowyn.
To facilitate these works the trails will be closed until 5 o clock on weekdays for the next three weeks, but will remain open during the evenings and weekend.
Member of the 12 O’Clock Hills Community Group, Patsy Neville, says there is a chance the works won’t be as extensive as planned, but precautions to ensure hiker safety still must be implemented.
