Payments worth over €9 million to more than 5,500 Clare farmers have been announced.
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine has confirmed that advance payments under the Eco-Scheme worth €9.11 million to 5,557 farmers in this county have commenced.

The scheme intends to reward farmers for taking actions that benefit the climate, environment, water quality and biodiversity.
Feakle-based chairperson of the Irish Farmers Association Stephen Walsh says while the support is welcome, the scheme is providing money that was previously given as a basic income.
