Patients Attending UHL For Covid Treatment Increase By More Than A Quarter

The number of Covid patients at University Hospital Limerick has risen by ten over the past 24 hours.

The latest figures from the HSE show 47 patients were being treated for the virus this morning, up from 37 on Saturday.

Six patients are now receiving intensive care.

It comes as the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is the highest of any hospital in the country once again, as the week begins.

The latest INMO trolley watch analysis shows 53 patients were left waiting on trolleys in the Emergency Department at University Hospital Limerick this morning.

The overall figure is 18 more than the next busiest facility.
