Parents affected by the closure of the West Clare Early Years Centres are holding a public demonstration in Kilrush this afternoon to highlight their devastation over the loss of childcare services.
Five centres closed over a week ago with the loss of 50 jobs and hundreds of childcare spaces in Kilrush, Kilkee, Lissycasey, Kilmihil and Kildysart.
Negotiations surrounding the management of the service had been ongoing between an interested party and Pobal over the past week but talks have since fallen through.
The West Clare Community Childcare Action Group will are holding a demonstration in the Market Square in Kilrush at 12.30 to demand immediate action is taken to restore the services.
Sorcha Daly is one of the parents affected and she's encouraging the people of the county to come out and show their support.
