Overcrowding Eases But Remains High

The number of patients waiting for beds at the region's main hospital has dipped slightly today, though the level of overcrowding remains high.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says 38 people are waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick, 14 of those in the Emergency Department.

The figure is the second highest of any hospital in the country, with only the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore experiencing higher levels of overcrowding, where 50 people are waiting on trolleys.
