Over 100 Clare farmers are to benefit from a €17 million announcement under the Sheep Improvement Scheme.
Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon has confirmed that payments valued at €16.91 million will be issued to 15,527 participants nationwide.

A total of 111 Clare farmers will share a funding pot of €69,554 under the scheme which provides support of €12 per breeding ewe for actions that improve animal health and welfare in the sheep sector.
Minister Heydon says he’s “acutely aware of the importance of getting payments out to applicants as quickly as possible”.
