The Minister for the Office of Public Works is reassuring that temporary pumps in place in Springfield will prevent flooding this winter.
Minister Patrick O’Donovan visited the site on Friday to inspect the flood relief works, which are largely completed, bar the arrival of permanent water pumps from the Netherlands.

The pumps are due to be delivered between late December and early January and their installation will mark the end of the 1.79 million euro scheme.
Minister O’Donovan says the pumps in place in the interim have withstood the wettest October on record and will protect residents into the new year.
