A North Clare woman, who was Ireland's oldest person, has passed away.
Nora Canavan was 108 years old.
Nora Canavan was born as Nora Mullins at Monreel, Ennistymon on March 9, 1908.
Most recently living in Doolin, she became the oldest person in Ireland earlier this year following the death of 109-year-old Mayo woman Molly Madden.
At the time of her death, she was also the oldest Irish citizen.
Nora was pre-deceased by her husband Stephen, with whom she had seven children, while she is survived by a wide circle of friends and family, including two great-great grandchildren.
Nora has today been described as a family woman who liked crochet and gardening, while she knitted up to last year.
Nora also enjoyed traditional music, had a strong faith, and said that hard work was the secret of a long life.
