Numbers of new houses built in Clare in 2015 expected to be low

Newly-published figures suggest that any growth in the number of homes built in Clare this year will be low.

CSO statistics show planning permission was granted for 24 homes in the final quarter of last year, bringing the total number of all of 2014 to 111.

This represents an increase of only 9 on the previous year, but a reduction of over 20 on 2013.

Across the country, half of all planning permissions last year were focused on the counties of Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Cork and Waterford.
