Number Of COVID Patients In UHL Drops By Two Thirds This Week

The number of COVID-19 patients in the region’s main hospital has dropped by nearly two thirds since the beginning of this week.

There were 13 people being treated in University Hospital Limerick last night with the virus according to the latest HSE figures.

It’s a significant fall on a high of 37 on Sunday, and Tuesday night’s number of 22.

There are now five patients being treated in the intensive care unit in Dooradoyle who have the virus.

It comes as the hospital remains the most overcrowded in the country, with 34 people waiting for a bed in UHL this morning according to the INMO.
